Cleveland County Rescue Mission, C.C.R.M

As a committed community of believers, we believe we are called to reach out to individuals whose lives have been damaged by addiction and/or self-destructive behavior or who have basically fallen on hard times.  We envision a shelter with programs that will lead individuals to reconciliation and restoration to themselves, their families, and to their community.

Through love and accountability, Inter-faith Alliance will teach, train, and discipline our residents to refocus their lives as productive members of society. Change begins when we as a community, extend helping hands.  We believe that change occurs from the inside out. We are a faith based organization that is dedicated to recovery through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. 

Our goal is to create a 24 hour program that would consist of an array of educational classes. These classes would include personal finance, GED, job skill training, theology, healthy living, volunteer work program, basic life skills and vocational training. This program will help residents gain employment, further their education, and transition them to more stable or permanent housing.  

The current shelter location is inadequate for housing, teaching, and office space.  We are currently working on plans for a location that better meets the needs of this community, i.e. Community Clinic, Community Soup Kitchen, and much more.

NEWS:

As you may have read in the newspapers or seen on the news, Inter-faith Alliance has been approved for a $500,000 dollar grant for the renovations of an existing building here in Shelby.  We have also received $15,000 dollars from the Cleveland Reg. Hospital Foundation towards this Project.  The Baptist Men’s Assoc. will be providing much of the physical labor.

We are still in need of $30,000 to purchase the building and begin demolition. We will then need to raise another $40,000 to begin renovations.  Our goal is to be in the new building before next winter, so that going forward there will always be room at the Inn here in Cleveland County.
